Timeline of 2pac's Life


1971

Tupac Amaru Shakur was born in New York City to Afeni Shakur, a member of the Black Panther Party. Afeni was pregnant in jail with Tupac on charges of bombing. Shortly after Tupac was born Afeni changed his name from Lesane Parish Crooks to Tupac Amaru Shakur which meant shining serpent, thankful to god

1975 - 1983

Tupac's family shuttles between the Bronx and Harlem, at times living in shelters.

1983

Legs comes to live with the Shakur family and introduces Afeni to Crack. Tupac claims him as his father
Tupac enrolls in the 127th Street Ensemble, a Harlem Theater group; he made his acting debut in A Raisin in the Sun production.

1986

Tupac and family moved to Baltimore where Tupac enrolled in the Baltimore school for arts and studied Acting and ballet.
Tupac wrote his first rap under the name of MC New York.

1988

June: Tupac moved to Marin City, CA. Tupac moved in with a neighbor where he started selling drugs
August: Tupac's stepfather, Mutulu Shakur was sentenced to 60 years in prison for armed robbery.

1990

Joined Digital Underground as a roadie and dancer

1991

With Digital Underground Tupac was on the Track "Same Song" from "this is an EP release" and on Digital Underground album "Sons of the P"
Tupac’s debut album 2Pacalypse now released. It had the hit singles Trapped and Brenda’s got a baby.
Tupac files a $10million against the Oakland police for brutality following an arrest for Jaywalking

1992

Tupac makes his film debut in Ernest Dickerson's Juice as Bishop
Ronald Ray Howard, 19 shoots a Texas Trooper. Howard’s attorney claims 2Pacalypse now incited him to kill
A 6 year old bystander is shot in the head during an altercation involving Tupac. Tupac’s half brother Maurice Harding (Mopreme-Komani) was arrested but released due to lack of evidence.
Vice president Dan Quale says 2Pacalypse now "has no place in our society".

1993

Second album Strictly 4 my N.I.G.G.A.Z released
Tupac has a fight with a limo driver, who accuses him of using drugs in his car
Tupac was arrested for swinging a baseball bat at another rapper during a concert. He was sentenced to 10 days in jail.
Appeared in film Poetic justice with Janet Jackson
Tupac was arrested for shooting at two off duty Atlanta cops.
Arrested and charged with sexual assault
John Singleton was forced to drop Tupac from the film Higher Learning

1994

Tupac was sentenced to 15 days in jail for punching Hughes Brother Allen Hughes, who had dropped him from Menace II Society
Appeared in the film "Above the Rim". Soundtrack sold 2million.
Two Milwaukee Teens murder a police officer and cite Tupac's Souljahs Story as the inspiration
Thug Life released
November: Tupac shot in a New York recording studio 5 times and robbed of $40,000 worth of Jewelry.
Sentenced to prison where he served 8 months in New York Rikers Island.

1995

Me Against the world released while Tupac was in prison goes to number 1
May : Married Keisha Morris
Tupac blames The Notorious B.I.G, Puff Daddy, Andre Harrell and friend Stretch for the shooting
October : Released from Jail
Suge Knight posts $1.4million bail, Tupac signs with Death Row.
Randy "Stretch" Walker was murdered execution style in Queens.

1996

First rap double CD "All eyez on me" released.
May: Snoop Doggy Dogg and 2Pac release 2 of Americas most Wanted. Video has Puffy and Biggie (Buffy and P.I.G) punished for setting up 2Pac.
June: 2Pac releases Hit em up dissing Biggie, Puffy, Bad Boy, Mobb Deep, Chino XL
Sept 7: Shot in Las Vegas after watching a Mike Tyson fight
Sept 13: died at 4:03pm
Yafeu "Kadafi" Fula of Tha Outlawz murdered
Nov 5: "Makaveli- The Don Killuminati: The 7 Day theory released

1997

Films Bullet, Gridlock'd and Gang Related released
RU Still down? (Remember me) released


1998

Greatest hits released

1999

Poetry book released containing 72 poems.
Still I Rise released

2000

The Rose That Grew From The Concrete released containing rappers and others singing, rapping, speaking Tupac’s poetry

2001

Double Album Until The End of Time Released. Goes to Number 1 in the album chart

2002

Releases double album called Better Dayz, leaked weeks before, fans got a good taste of what was coming up. Sold over 400k in its first week.

2003

Releases SoundTrack Resurrection, followed by the movie Resurrection, which thanks to MTV, hit theatures nationwide.
