Lil Easy E
You can have respect for artists in the game but the best kind of respect is respect that is gained; and this interview did just that for me. I gained much respect for Lil Eazy E.

Gobi

It is a rare occasion that any man would be so lucky enough to have the opportunity to work with one of the world's most Greatest Rappers to ever live. No man could be more lucky enough than himself, Gobi. This man is truely amazing. And for the new fans who dont know him. He was the guy behind the scenes Producing/Directing some of the hottest 2pac videos to ever be produced, Such videos as "2 of Americaz Most Wanted", "Made Niggaz", "Hit Em Up" and "How Do You Want It". Just having the opportunity of speaking to this man I came to realise he still holds a big place for 2pac in his heart and wants the same thing as all of us fans do, which is to keep 2pac's Legacy Alive forever and keeping the media from distorting it. Enjoy the Interview.

Interviewer: Jeremy Pearson
Date: October 21, 2005

MobFiggaz.net: First, thanks for taking time with us today. I really appreciate it. I am a huge fan of the work you did with 2pac.

MobFiggaz.net: OK you have a new book coming out titled "Thru My Eyes", Can you tell us a little about that?

I had a production company with tupac just before he passed. We had amongst other things, a three picture deal he was shopping around hollywood. he was very excited about all that laid ahead for him and us. he was ready to take over hollywood. as you know i had the pleasure of directing some, and producing most of his music videos. It was during the filming of most of these, that the photos were taken. I had the photos in this book locked up and hidden for about 4 years not knowing what to do. one day i decided it was time to reach out to a couple of publishers to see if they would be interested in putting a photo book out on pac. Atria/Simon and Schuster thought it would be a great idea. Four years later and the book is coming out. I didn't want to make it just a photo book, because i really have felt since his passing, (other than his loyal fans) the media has spread misinformation on tupac and what he was all about. In putting this book out, i hope to educate the -tupac-ignorant of the world and perhaps even share -with his fans- aspects of his personality, his dreams and a bit of his humor.

MobFiggaz.net: I read there's going to be some unreleased pictures of tupac in this book, about how many?

I'd say that about 95% of the photos in this book have never been seen. i think pac might be laughing right now (or mad at me), knowing that i am exposing a photo of him in a wig (he was doing a rick james impersonation).

MobFiggaz.net: When were all these pictures taken?

These photos were taken during the last 8 months of his life. The 8 months I knew him.

MobFiggaz.net: I had seen the preview cover of the book in which afeni shakur's name is up at the top, is she involved in the release of the book?

Mrs. Shakur Davis was gracious to write a forward for this book. Also a portion of the proceeds will go to the performing arts center she is building in atlanta (www.tasf.org)

MobFiggaz.net: Are you going to play a role in the production of "Live 2 Tell." Tupac's only screenplay?

"live 2 tell" was one of the projects that wanted us to work on. I had always had that script in the back of my mind. I had a working relationship with Bret Saxon and Jeff Bowler of IMG, and put them in contact with Amaru representatives. The rest is history. I look forward to being an asset in the production of this movie.

MobFiggaz.net: So i suppose you have'nt heard who might be playing the leading role in that film?

I'm not sure who's playing the lead role. the first move will be to select a director and the rest will follow.

MobFiggaz.net: Alright, I understand there was a video shot for "life goes on." The fans over at our Online Message Forum 2pacboard.net would like to know. You think there will ever be a day when that video will be released for the fans to enjoy? We all know that the fans out there went crazy when the un-seen version of Toss it Up was released.

I don't know about this version

MobFiggaz.net: Is it true that you did another version of "life goes on"?

It was a video I put together for Mrs. Shakur Davis and the first Tupac memorial in atlanta. It was a collection of footage and photos i had and some video clips. I have a copy of it ;-)

MobFiggaz.net: Any possible way of us getting a copy to throw up on the website for the fans or are you planning to release that sometime later?

Well. If you pay for the dub and transfer cost....It's yours

MobFiggaz.net: haha alright

MobFiggaz.net: Did you shoot or produce any of the music Videos from the "7 Day Theory" Album? Such as Toss it up or 2 live and die in La?

Unfortunately no. I have not worked on any tupac videos since his passing.

MobFiggaz.net: Do you know if 2pac ever talked about shooting music videos for songs like "Blasphemy" or "against all odds"?

No. Didn't get to any of those. The only ones he mentioned that I was to either direct or produce, were songs from the 1 nation album.

MobFiggaz.net: Really, Which Songs?

All of them. He wanted to do videos for all of them.

MobFiggaz.net: I have also heard that you shot somewhere around 18 hours of random video of 2pac during his time at Deathrow Records. Do you plan on releasing it to the general public?

Stay tuned.

MobFiggaz.net: haha, alright.

MobFiggaz.net: What was it like working with pac? Did he ever get impatient with you while on the set or was it all pretty easy going?

Get the book and you'll learn a lot about working with tupac, his humor on set, his lack of patience and other aspects of production.

MobFiggaz.net: When you visited 2pac up in the hospital, did you film any of the surrounding chaos? (Such as the fans that were gathered outside the hospital during the days he was hospitalised, The police confrontation with yaki kadafi outside the hospital)

Nope. It wasn't appropriate to pull out a camera, as my partner was clinging to his life. it was chaotic and tense. I mention a lot about it in the book.

MobFiggaz.net: That's Understandable.

MobFiggaz.net: Do you know why Frank wasn't up in the hospital helping with security, being he was pac's bodyguard and with him all the time because I heard there was only 1 officer siting up there the whole time?

I'm not sure. I just know the police, nor the hospital weren't as helpful as they could be.

MobFiggaz.net: Do you think pac got the attention he deserved as far as medical treatment from the doctors while he was in the hospital?

Not at all. The security guard at the hospital told me that a year before pac was there a white rodeo star had broken his leg and that vegas pd had given him 4 police men round the clock (no charge) and that the hospital had supplied 6 honey wagons for his family so they'd be comfortable. We didn't have any of that.

MobFiggaz.net: I understand you were waiting for pac and suge to arrive at club662 the night he got shot, was pac planning on performing that night?

Not to my knowledge. We were to party it up with him.

MobFiggaz.net: Well alright i think that pretty much wraps it up. I wish you the best of luck on your new book and I know I will be going and buying a copy myself when it hits shelves on November 1st. Peace.
